Chelsea linked with third Juventus star as Miralem Pjanic meets new agent

CHELSEA will swoop for a third Juventus star, according to reports in Italy, with Miralem Pjanic apparently high on Maurizio Sarri’s agenda.

The Blues are said to be interested in Juve defender Daniele Rugani and striker Gonzalo Higuain and Italian reporter Alfredo Pedulla has added Pjanic to that list.

Emerging Macedonian agent Fali Ramadani – who worked on Sarri’s move to Stamford Bridge alongside his Italian agent – has taken over the job of negotiating Pjanic’s career.

The pair enjoyed dinner in Milan on Wednesday and when a waiting Italian TV crew approached the midfielder outside the restaurant, Pjanic refused to answer questions and scarpered.

And Sarri has been equally coy on the names he wants to add to midfield signing Jorginho.

He said: “I cannot name names, because I don’t know.

Midfielder Pjanic and striker Gonzalo Higuain are wanted by Maurizio Sarri

“I spoke with the club and ideally I think that a pinch of quality is lacking in our centre-midfield for a certain type of play.

“At the end of the transfers I will understand which type of game is the most suitable.

“I cannot change 20 players, I must adapt and then I will see if we change somethings in my game.”

Sarri’s main concern – ahead of landing new names – must be keeping hold of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Courtois

The pair are both wanted by Real Madrid, with the Belgium midfielder and captain also linked with Barcelona.

And the ongoing speculation is of no real interest in the transfer developments

He said: “Clearly we would always like to keep the strongest players, this is what any manager and club wants to do.

“We will have to see what the transfer market goes.

“But I am more of a field manager, a pitch manager than a general manager.

“I think I am one of the few managers who are bored by the transfer market.

“I don’t want to talk about it, it is about growing the players we have.”
